Nicolas (Nick) Mendez passed away at his home in San Jose on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the age of 21 during his fourth battle with cancer.

Nick was born in San Jose on May 28, 1994. He graduated from Saint Francis High School in Mountain View and received a degree from the International Culinary Center in Campbell in pursuit of his dream of becoming a Chef.

Nick worked as a chef at Alexander’s Steak House in Cupertino until his most recent diagnosis.

Nick is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Tammy; father, Michael; brother, Joey; grandfather, Frank Fiala; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Nick’s life will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Sunnyvale on January 16th, 2016 at 10:00AM.

After a 20 month battle with cancer, Freddy Rafael Adames died at 61 on Oct 30, 2015, in his home in Morgan Hill, California with his wife, Beth, and daughters, Melissa and Christina, by his side. Freddy leaves his wife, daughters, grandchildren, Cruz and Lana, brothers, Mauricio and Fernando, sons-in-law, Jon and Tristan, niece, Nicole, and nephew, Bryan, and countless other family and friends who loved him deeply.

Born on Jan 3, 1954, in Bogota, Colombia to Blanca and Rafael Adames, Freddy moved to the US in 1974, where he continued to make friends, keep family together and make people happy.

Freddy was a successful professional in the fields of Semiconductors and Satellite Communications. Beyond his "day-job," philanthropy and uniting his beloved soccer with the community was his passion. He was a devoted SJ Earthquakes fan.

Freddy's other passion was traveling the world. With an open mind and a genuine love for people and places, Freddy visited over 30 countries.

He will be remembered for his eternal optimism, quick smile and gentle spirit. A memorial will be held on November 5, at noon, at Fernwood Cellars in Gilroy.

Jeremy John "Jimi" Tucker died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on October 26, 2015. He was 42 years old. He is survived by his daughters Abbey (12) and Belle (11); parents John and Paulette Tucker; sisters Heather Tucker (Greg Zwart) and Ami Bruce (Graham Bruce); and brothers Chris (Andrea) and Scott (Leesa). Jimi also leaves behind a grandmother, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jimi was born on December 9, 1972 in Redwood City. He was the third child of five. A graduate of Lynbrook High School in San Jose, Jimi attended Chico State University and graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Applied Economics. He worked for Valin Corporation before joining the Cupertino Office of Merrill Lynch in 2010.

Some knew him for his quirkiness, sarcasm and unusual sense of humor. Others will remember him for his infectious laugh, his big smile, his warmth and friendliness and loving and generous heart. His hobbies included woodworking, candle making and playing the guitar.

His favorite moments in life were those he spent accompanied by his daughters. He made time to do as many fun things as he could with them, including riding roller coasters, spending days at the beach, sledding in Tahoe or simply spending time together at home.

A celebration of Jimi's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 5th at the DoubleTree Hotel, 2050 Gateway Pl, San Jose.

Cary was a long time member of Gateway City Church. He worked at Waterproofing Associates for the last 3 years.

Cary is survived by his loving wife, Emily Eisenberg; his children, KaitLynn (11), Ezekiel (9), and Samuel (4); his parents, Bruce Eisenberg and Amy Matatia; his sister, Jaime Eisenberg; and many other relatives and friends.

Wallace Ford was born on January 24, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on October 24, 2015 in San Jose, California. He was 98 years old.

Krista went to the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. She contended with and fought tirelessly against the problems of nephropathic cystinosis all her life. Multiple organ failure finally was overwhelming. In her final hours she was surrounded and comforted by family and friends.

In 1978 she volunteered to be the sole medical research subject and stayed 9 weeks at UC San Diego Hospital with Dr. Jerry Schneider to help determine the safe and adequate dose of cysteamine bitartrate (cystagon/procysbi). This drug became the sole treatment for the disease of cystinosis now used throughout the world by people afflicted with cystinosis.

Krista Noelle Mund was a dearly loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend. Krista can be described as a kind soul and a strong spirit. She always hoped for the best, but if things went wrong it was always "Okay." Her strength and spirit were always directed toward making people she loved and cared about feeling special and accepted. Krista loved to laugh and share stories with her friends and sometimes she would surprise you with some sassy drama and she loved that too. Krista was a very simple person. She loved to go out to eat with friends, sit with dogs at home, or be on the internet interacting and planning things with people. Krista had an infectious laugh and a lively, genuine smile that stood out in any room. Krista was special in many, many ways. Although she had many complications, she always chose to shine bright and look ahead. The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff at Kaiser Hospital Santa Clara for the years of diligent care. A world-class hospital.

Krista is survived by her parents, Merle and Bruce Mund; her brother, Marc Mund; her uncle, George Relles; her aunt, Earlyne; her cousins, Erik Mund and Virginia Anderson; numerous cousins and relatives in Sacramento; and her dogs, Mika, Leah and McKenzie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7 at 11 am at Church of the Chimes, 1447 Bryan Avenue, San Jose. Interment will be at a later date.

He is survived by his sisters, Judy Heath of Campbell, Melissa Clements of San Jose, Vicki Yoshihara (Dale) of San Jose, and Natalie Di Lisio (Charles) of Saratoga; and his nieces and nephews.

He attended Leigh High School and Cabrillo College and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He returned to Santa Cruz where he pursued his passion for good coffee, books, bridge, music - especially sixties surf instrumentals, and everything cars with an emphasis on classics. He enjoyed repairing guitars and keyboards, writing music, and performing in bands. He was a member of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club. George will be missed by his family and many friends.

Andrew G. Andona passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 10 in Santa Clara. He was born on November 30, 1931 in Bakersfield to Francisco and Maria Ynez Andona. He was the oldest of 12 children.

He worked for 60 years as a technician at Varian/Intevac. He was also a member of the Santa Clara County Sheriff Reserves for many years. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Air Force.

Andrew is survived by his children, Barbara Andona-Riolo (Patrick), Cathy McDonald (Larry), Gary Andona, Monte Andona, Mark Andona, Rebecca Weir (Howard), and Stacy Andona; his 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 8 of his siblings; and many other relatives and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Nov. 6th starting at 3:30pm at the South Bay Yacht Club.

Richard Hitt passed away suddenly on October 8th in Mountain View. He was born on July 4th, 1938 in Los Angeles to Samuel and Ruth Hitt.

Richard spent the majority of his career at IBM, Amdahl, and UTC Global as a developer. He was a lifelong member of Mensa. Richard enjoyed hiking, music, and books.

Richard is survived by his nephews, Steve Hitt (Kathryn) of Everett, WA, and Beau Hitt (Tammy) of Long Beach; and his cousin, Linda Bouchard of Gig Harbor, WA.

Myles Pflum was born on April 22, 1983 in Illinois and passed away on October 7, 2015. He was 32 years old.

James Everett Pool was born in Winnebago, MN to Harold Edward Pool and Emma Ruth [Ryder] Pool.

During his lifetime he went from plowing fields with horses to being part of the Aerospace engineering team that designed the couch and nose cone of the original Apollo spacecraft at North American Aviation. He retired from Lockheed and received a commendation from the Navy for his work.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary W. [Lady] Pool; daughter, Linda K. Stamper; grandson, James R. Stamper (Stephanie) and great-grandson, Carson J. Stamper.

A service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, October 14 at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak St, Saratoga.

Victor H. Wright passed away peacefully at home into the hands of Jesus on September 21, 2015. He was born on July 18, 1925 to Richard Neil and Nellie Wright in Oregon and was reared in Bellevue, WA.

He enlisted in the Marines and served in the Pacific during World War II. Upon graduating from college, he began his teaching career as a middle school math teacher. In 1956 he was teaching in the U.S. Army Dependent Schools in Butzbach, Germany where he met fellow teacher, Nancy Kenney of San Francisco. Upon returning to the States he found a teaching position in the Bay Area. Nancy and Victor were married on August 16, 1958 in San Francisco. They settled in San Jose in 1960. He taught at Redwood Junior High in Saratoga.

Victor volunteered in church and community activities: Boy Scouts, AAU Sparta Youth Track, Cursillo and St. Basil's.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Ellen, and Frank; brother-in-law, Bill Kenney; and sister-in-law, Margaret Wright.

Victor is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his 5 sons, Kenney (Terri), O'Neil (Theresa), Coleman (Kelly), Karl, and Shelby; his grandchildren, Abigail, Annie, and Kasey Marie; His sister, Pat; his sister-in-law, Peg Kenney; his brother-in-law, Dick Lehms; and many other relatives and friends.

Beloved son and brother, Luis “Louie” “Lou” “Pollo” Cong, 36, of San José, California, has gone to Heaven to be with his Lord. He passed away in his sleep of unknown causes on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015.

He was born in Minatitlan, Veracruz, Mexico on June 28th, 1979. He attended August Boeger Middle School (1993), Mount Pleasant High School (1997), Evergreen Valley College, and San Jose State University.

Luis was proud of his work at UPS and the City of San José. He loved baseball and was fanatical about the MPHS Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants. He loved helping others and constantly found himself giving away money, his many pairs of shoes, many watches, and even more crucifixes to those in need. When not at work, you could find him working on his other loves, his Acura Integra and Toyota Truck, which he would build and rebuild constantly. Luis also enjoyed loudly cheering on his beloved Nephew's (#21) Monte Vista Christian High School Football Team on Friday nights.

Luis is survived by his parents Jose Quinhan and Lucila, brothers José (little sister Lina Rizzo), Alex, Juan (newly wed sister-in-law Vicky), and nephew Justin.

Sandy, as she was known to family and friends, came of age in the 1960s and never lost her conviction for social causes. She championed equality for all and was as concerned about the welfare of animals as she was for people. She was a great sports fan who loved the Giants and 49ers, Red Sox and Patriots.

Born in Snohomish, Wash., Sandy lived in Cupertino and graduated from Homestead High and De Anza College. She graduated from San Francisco State in 1972 and worked in the insurance industry in San Francisco until 1987 when she moved to her firm's Boston office. She returned to Cupertino in 2004.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Marge Gilbert, siblings Maureen, Kirk (Teri), Annette (Stan Iwamoto), Lori and Chris (Tisha), niece Kelly (Jesse Rodriguez), nephew Brett and great niece Audrey. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Gilbert.

Fifth-generation and lifelong Los Gatos resident, Steve Sporleder, son of Louis O. Sporleder, Jr. and Virginia Dobler Sporleder passed away peacefully on September 1, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Steve attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1965. In 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Deborah Henwood. Although their marriage eventually ended, they remained friends to the end.

In 1999, after a 32-year career, Steve retired as a Captain from the Saratoga Fire Department. Starting with Steve's grandfather, the Sporleder family has been in the fire service, serving the town of Los Gatos and the surrounding area for over a century. Steve's always balanced his career with his love of family and friends and devotion to his children, Lou and Jessica.

After retiring, Steve started his career as an author, writing 5 books all set in or around the town of Los Gatos — making him an unofficial town historian. His novel, From Sleepy Lagoon to the Corner of the Cats, was a Finalist in the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Steve treasured his fishing trips with family and friends and vacations at the Lake Tahoe log cabin built by his father. He was a huge SF Giant's fan, asking for the score of the current game on his last days. Steve was a sensitive and talented man who had a way of leaving you feeling a little better about yourself and those around you.

Diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2012, Steve chose to handle his illness with optimism, courage, and dignity — determined to beat the odds. His engaging smile, twinkle in his eye, and unbounded optimism convinced us all that he would. His last months were filled with visitors relating tales of how he'd touched their lives. Steve found the silver lining in his illness by receiving this gratitude and unconditional love.

Steve was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his partner of 28 years, Mary Wolf; son Lou; daughter Jessica Erkiletian; daughter-in-law, Elisabeth; son-in-law, Michael Erkiletian; his grandchildren, Adelaine Sporleder, Ethan Erkiletian, Jakob Sporleder, and Sion Erkiletian; his brothers, Doug and Bert and their wives, Susan and Patricia respectively; the mother of his children, Deborah Henwood Caroon; Mary's son, Chris, and his wife, Liah, and their children, Delaney and Campbell.

Besides his parents, Steve was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Louis Sporleder.

A private interment will be held at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in honor of Steve's memory to the Los Gatos Athletic Association.

She truly was an amazing person to be admired and was a blessing to her entire family. She was strong and courageous yet kind, wise, and demure. Alice will be greatly missed.

Richard (Dick) Shoup, computer graphics pioneer, passed away peacefully at his San Jose home on July 18, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born July 30, 1943, Dick was a native of western Pennsylvania. He earned a BSEE and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. His Ph.D. thesis was the first to explore programmable logic and reconfigurable hardware, now widely used in computers and consumer electronics. Dick was one of the first employees at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, where he developed the SuperPaint system, one of the first to use computer animation in television and movies. He received both an Emmy and an Academy Award for this foundational work. In 1979, he left Xerox to found Aurora Systems, a video graphics and animation company. Dick later worked for Interval Research Corporation in Palo Alto and founded the Boundary Institute to further explore a lifelong interest in physics and parapsychology.

An avid musician in his spare time, Dick played jazz trombone for many years in various Big Bands throughout the Bay Area.

Dick was most proud of his family. He leaves behind a wife, Nancy, of San Jose, and four children, son Randall of Pacifica, son Eric and wife Christina of San Mateo, son Alexander of San Jose; and daughter, Celanie, of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by four wonderful grandchildren and a sister, Judith Sharp of Santa Cruz.

Johnathon "Bubba" Patrick Deming was born January 29, 1996 and passed away on July 5, 2015.

He lived in San Jose throughout his life and graduated from Piedmont Hills High School in 2014.

Johnathon is survived by his father, John Deming Sr.; his mother, Linda Stasi; his sister, Amber Deming; his grandmothers, Diane Yurk, and Barbara Stasi; his uncle, Chuck Stasi; his Auntie, Maria Stasi; his cousin, Vera Stasi; and many friends that he called family.

His passion burned with the light of a thousand suns. He brought light into the hearts of those he encountered. Johnathon will be remembered for his warm, altruistic nature, the deep love he held for his family, friends, music and animals. He will continue to be one of the greatest joys in the lives of all who knew him.

Johnathon, the youngest child, was blessed to have never lived a day without the loving care of his parents, grandparents, sister, aunt, uncle and cousin. Though we once knew a life before Johnathon, our lives will never be the same without him. His presence will be greatly missed, but he will never leave our hearts.

Karen Alyce Tamzarian Adrouny died peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2015 in her home in Monte Sereno, surrounded by loved ones. She died after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.

She was the devoted wife of Dr. A. Richard Adrouny for 33 years and the mother of Dr. Melissa Knar Adrouny and Mr. Gregory Adour Adrouny. She is also survived by her mother, Alyce Tamzarian of Potomac, MD; her sister, Kay Tamzarian Fellows (Jack), of Boulder, CO; and her sisters-in-law, Dr. Salpi Adrouny of Johns Creek, GA, and Sonia Adrouny Russo (Ray) of N. Potomac, MD. Other devoted family members include Dr. Zaven and Armine Adrouny of Hillsborough, CA, Stephanie Adrouny, John and Irmy Adrouny and Karen and David Barson all of the Bay Area.

Karen was a graduate of the University of Maryland and began her career as a paralegal for the Washington, DC law firm of Williams Connolly and Califano. She later worked for Southern California Edison and for former Congressman David Dreier as his District Representative. Upon moving to the Bay Area, she became very active in community affairs with organizations like the Junior League of San Jose (for which she served as President in 1994), the Santa Clara County Medical Association Auxiliary, the Good Samaritan Hospital Board, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, the Olympic Development Program for young female soccer players, the California Youth Soccer Association and the Rotary Club of Los Gatos.

Her greatest role, however, was serving as a dedicated and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and sister-in-law.

A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Friday, June 19 at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak Street, Saratoga.

Her memorial will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 20 at Calvary Armenian Congregational Church, 725 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco.

Suzanne Margaret Barkworth, a long time resident of San Jose, died Wednesday May 27, 2015, after suffering sudden and unexpected heart failure. Sue, or Suzie as we often called her, was a dedicated teacher who taught 40 years in San Jose Unified, most years at Graystone Elementary in Almaden Valley. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education at Cal State San Francisco. Sue was well loved by students and parents, many of whom continued to stay in touch long after she retired in 2009.

Sue was a caring, loving person who gave of herself in very meaningful ways to so many individuals and organizations. Early in her career she became involved with teacher training and education legislation. Last March Sue was again elected and planned to represent the California Teachers Association Retired at the annual NEA convention in Orlando, Florida. Sue was also an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for Key Women Educators.

Born October 29, 1945 in Gloucestershire, England, Sue is survived by her brother John Barkworth (Jackie), sister Patricia Scott (John), nieces Sue Scott and Sarah Barkworth, nephew Andrew Barkworth, great nieces Sarah and Katie McGrory, and great nephews Nicholas Huizar, and Riley and Nathan Barkworth.

Elizabeth Ann (Sue) died at Good Samaritan Hospital with her sons and good friends by her side. She fought a valiant battle with prolonged health complications and succumbed to respiratory failure following surgery. Sue Walker was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA, graduating from Marywood Catholic High School in Anaheim. In 1965 Sue married Don Nichols and they relocated to San Jose where Don was attending San Jose State. They resided in San Jose, raising their sons in the Almaden Valley. They were married for 36 years until Don’s death in 2001.

Sue’s priority was her family. She was always involved with the boys’ school and sports activities. Sue loved being with people. For years, as a manager, she was seen with her station wagon full of Tupperware. She led bus tours to discount shopping and wine destinations in northern CA. After Don’s death Sue worked for Morris + D’Angelo CPA firm until her health declined in 2013. She was a 25 year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and new member of Assistance League San Jose. Sue was vivacious, energetic, organized, friendly, funny, and a faithful friend to young and old alike. She was loved by her family, extended families, longtime friends, new friends and her colleagues. She will be greatly missed by all.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband and mother, Gertrude Walker. She is survived by her sons Dan (Nicci), grandchildren Renn and Shae of Orange, CA, son Steve, grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Corinne of Lansing, MI, and son Jeff of San Jose and her brother Jim Walker (Louise) of Fountain Valley, CA. He was born on January 5, 1943 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Thaddeus and Edna Golitz. He graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1960 and from San Jose State in 1980. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1967. He worked for 35 years at IBM.

Roger was troop leader and Advancement Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 290. He was Almaden Valley Little League coach and president, and an Almaden Valley Youth Soccer Association coach. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Roger was a collector of classic cars. He loved traveling, spending time outdoors, and vacationing at their home in Grants Pass, Oregon. He also volunteered at the schools where his wife and daughter taught. His family and friends were everything to him.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pauline Golitz; his children, Brian Golitz (Amy), Becky Verdugo (Matthew); his grandchildren, Cameron Golitz, Abigail and Nathan Verdugo; his brothers, Ted Golitz (Kay), and Robert (Mary Lee) Golitz; sister, Jean Golitz; sister-in-law, Barbara Chatelain (Richard); numerous nieces and nephews; and many caring friends.

She is survived by 3 sons: David Auda, Daniel Auda, and Kenneth Auda; 6 grandchildren: Sarah Auda, Ruthi Auda, Rebekah Auda, Deborah Auda, Peter Auda, and Michael Auda; and 1 great-granddaughter, Makayah Auda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathy; his children, Steve, Chris (Sara), Deanna Broussard (BJ), and Tara; his wonderful grandchildren; and his brothers Steven and Gary.

Services will be held on Friday, April 24 at 11:45am at Cusimano Chapel, 96 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

He was born in Eldon, MO on March 26, 1933. He was blessed to have spent his first 9 years living near the banks of the Lake of the Ozarks River. His parents moved to Campbell to contribute to the war effort in 1942. Robert was one of seven children. He graduated from Campbell High School.

Robert lived near the La Rinconada Golf Course and quickly developed a love for golf. He was so gifted that he became an assistant pro at Almaden Golf and Country Club.

He owned a Union 76 gas station on Coleman Ave. Later he joined the Spirits Industry which led him to a district manager position for Paul Masson Vineyards. His career ended with him retiring from Joseph George Distributors.

His last years unfortunately took a turn for the worse and he fought so hard and remained strong throughout. He left this earth peacefully at home with his loving wife at his side.

Robert is survived by his adoring wife of 60 years, Lorelei; his 3 loving children, Sherene Wilson (Bill), Jenelle Giambrone (Joe), and Gregory Brand (Minerva); his grandchildren, Shelby, Joey, Regina, and Vincent; his great-grandson, Marcos; and his favorite pets, Daisy, Romeo, and Ian.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Satellite Dialysis for taking great care of him for the last 3 years.

A service will be held on Monday, March 23 with a viewing from 11 to noon and funeral service at noon to be held at Church of the Chimes, 1447 Bryan Ave, San Jose. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Lee Robert Jones passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 26.

He was born on September 14, 1949 in Spokane, WA and moved to the South Bay in 1961. He retired from North American Van Lines after 26 years. He coached Santa Clara Pony Baseball for many years.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Petersen-Diaz; his children, Jayson Jones (Sheila), Robert Jones (Tabitha), his step-son, Michael Diaz; his 7 grandchildren; and the baseball community in Santa Clara.

Lee was a grandfather, father, friend, brother, coach, and loved one. Lee Robert Jones was a lot of things to a lot of people and he will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, March 8 at Washington Park, 270 Washington Street, Santa Clara.

Roger Eugene Evans was 84 years young when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years and all five of their children.

He is survived by his wife, Mona; children, Dan (Sibyl), John (Colleen), Janet, Laura Gomez, Susan Fernandez (Mark); 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Schmusser; and siblings of his heart, Joe and Dolly Cultrera; plus many more beloved extended family members.

Roger was first and foremost a dedicated husband to his sweetheart, Mona whom he met when they were teenagers. He was a loyal American, who served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and earned his sergeant stripes as a cartographer. They migrated from the midwest to California in 1950. He started his civilian career at Westinghouse and later retired from Lockheed. Roger was an avid sportsman and loved the town of McCloud, CA. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed.

A Rosary will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 10:30am with a Mass to follow at 11am at Queen of Apostles, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose.

Helen was born in Minneapolis, MN, and passed in San Jose, CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Everett Wm. Cowle, her daughters Marilyn A. Bernard, Sandra L. Wulff, and her step son Douglas Cowle. Her four brothers, Raymond, Elton, Albert and Lloyd, also predeceased her. She was the last of the Jacobson family to pass.

Herman (Dad's nickname) and Shorty (Mom’s nickname) were married on 5/04/1946, and raised their family in Robbinsdale, MN. They moved to Sunnyvale, CA in 1973, where they spent their retirement years together. Sadly, Helen was widowed in 1998. In 2003, Helen and her daughter Sandra purchased a home together in San Jose where they lived until July of 2012. She then moved into Amberwood Gardens where she was cared for until her final breath. We imagine the celebration in heaven upon her arrival! We were so blessed to know her and have her with us for her amazing lifespan.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Wiggins. She was blessed to be called Grandma and was loved and will be missed by 13 grandchildren: Marc (Susan), Wendy (Theron), Emily (Ian), Bethany (Joshua), David Karina), Jason, Breeana (Phil), Bryan, Tyler, Larry (Eden), Lynn, DuWayne (Tina) and Michelle (passed in 2001), also great-grandchildren to name a few: Christian, Chloe, Kevin, Mia, Jude, Arlo, Isaiah, Savannah, Kaira and one on the way!

She was blessed beyond words by the husband who loved her unconditionally and family that shared in that love both given and received. God bless her sweet soul.

Final resting spot will be Lakewood Cemetery in Mpls, MN where she will be buried with her husband, Everett, once again side by side.

Anita Marie Noble passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on January 30 in Los Gatos.

Anita obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Kent State and took the first job of her career in Denver. Although quiet by nature, Anita was an adventurer and soon packed all her belongings into her little VW and headed west. She worked at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for 40 years.

Anita's intuitive and curious nature served her well and she quickly became an expert in the diverse and fascinating world of microorganisms. In addition to mastering the standard techniques of isolating and identifying pathogens, she also became expert in the esoteric fields of Mycology, Parasitology, Anaerobes, Virology and Mycobacteriology. Her technical competence, stable demeanor, excellent judgment and focus on quality patient care ultimately led to her promotion to Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Microbiology in 1992, a position she held until her retirement in 2011. During her long career, her technical competence, even temperament and steadfast focus on quality patient care won the admiration and respect of all who worked with her.

Through her fine example, she helped guide her Department into a high performance team who served the patients of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center well, and delivered high quality, esoteric culturing and testing services to other hospitals, physician groups and laboratories throughout the entire region.

Anita is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim Noble; her daughter, Christina Noble; her mother, Mary Molli-Byron; her brother, Frank Molli (Lorrie); her nieces, Angela Knigge (Jake), and Andrea Molli.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Fubruary 9 at 11am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1576 Curtner Ave, San Jose.

Sarah was born on March 13, 1985, in Salisbury to William Kimball and Anna Berrier Kepley. A 2003 graduate of East Rowan High School, she graduated from Western Carolina University in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.

Affectionately called "Shorty," she began her career working for Wheeler Television in 2005 and hasn't stopped working since. She enjoyed working in sports television doing freelance work for the Charlotte Bobcats NBA team, NASCAR television and both professional and college sporting events. Even after moving across the country, Sarah continued to work sporting events including the 2012 and 2014 World Series.

Married to Jacob L. Hackamack on June 18, 2011, she was the proud mother of a daughter, Mazie Abigail Kepley Hackamack, born July 9, 2014.

Sarah is also survived by her sister, Molly Kepley Bostic and husband Danny of Wake Forest, their sons Isaac and Elias Bostic; grandparents Jack and Grace Kepley of Salisbury; grandmother Evelyn Berrier of Cary; her husband's parents, David and Julie Hackamack of Gilbert, Ari.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m. at The River Church Community, 670 Lincoln Ave., Suite 200, San Jose, Calif. A second memorial service will be scheduled in Salisbury at a later date.

After graduating from Galileo High School he married Lorraine Conte, the love of his life. They spent 55 wonderful years together until her passing.

He was a WWII Navy Veteran, founding member of St. Francis Cabrini Parish, Men's Club, I.C.F Br. 191, Bingo, and SIR 141.

Frank is survived by his children, Robert Basuino and Diane Jenkins (Michael); grandchildren, Gina D'Amico (Jon), Rob Basuino (Monica), Angela Pena (Don), and Marie Jenkins; seven great-grandchildren; and his loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, February 2 at 5pm, Vigil at 7pm, and Mass Tuesday at 11am, all at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 15333 Woodard Rd, San Jose. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

She was a faithful member of St. Clare's Parish in Santa Clara.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Flores. She is survived by her daughters, Ida Flores, Alice Flores, and Elsie Drabek (John); her grandson, Brandon Threets; and her sister, Aira Sousa (Lionel).

Services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in the St. Clare Chapel. Interment will follow.

He went to work for General Electric in Schenectady before World War II and served in the Army during the war. He married Albertina in 1944 and they moved to San Jose in 1946. He worked for General Electric in San Jose for 44 years.

Urban was preceded in death by his wife, Albertina Von Stetina, and is survived by his children, Arnold Von Stetina (Dana) of Minden, NV, Pamela Langwell (Dennis) of San Jose, and Mark Von Stetina (Jen) of Sparks, NV; his 6 grandchildren; and his 7 great-grandchildren.

He will be buried with Military Honors in a private ceremony at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.

John David Kettenburg passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 23, 2015. He battled cancer for many years and fought his illness with tenacity and courage.

John was born on June 17, 1958 in Bakersfield, CA to Richard and Joy Kettenburg. He spent his elementary and middle school years in Dallas, TX and his high school years in Valencia, CA. He graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1980 with a degree in business administration. He moved to the Bay Area in 1980 and started his career in Finance at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale.

John enjoyed swimming, surfing, skiing, wind surfing, motorcycle riding, and sailing throughout his life. He also loved raising his dogs, Sydney and Trixie; and his bird, Kayla. He was a devoted husband and father.

John is survived by his wife, Lisa; his children, Brad, and Paige; his sister, Judy Grodahl (Skip) of Portland, OR; his nephews, Eric, Adam, and Jack; and many cousins and friends.
